Plastic is bad for the oceans but we can help save it SBC5

Plastic is the most common pollutant that is found in the ocean. It touches my heart because it harms ocean plants and animals.

The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is a swirl of bath toys, plastic bottles, straws, plastic bags, and other pollutants in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Wikipedia says that it is 1.6 million square kilometers big. This comes from humans not throwing their trash away in the right place. Fish, turtles, dolphins, and birds have gotten caught in this mess and have died.

If humans did a better job when they throw away their trash, we could save many animals and plants and have clean water for everyone around the world. For Earth Day this year, my family is taking a plastic challenge. If you would like to do this please go to this link to learn more: NatGeo Kids vs. Plastic.
